Our Beliefs

The MISSION & VISION of Christ Dominion Ministries International is:

Our God-given purpose is to bring lost souls into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, help them develop a Christ-like maturity, and equip them for ministry, life mission in the church, and their world of influence.

The ministry is committed to building a community of faith through evangelizing those who are not in a relationship with Jesus Christ, embracing those not in a relationship with a local church, and empowering every believer to experience a new life in Christ through the knowledge of God’s word. CDMI seeks to build a culture inclusive of all walks of life — God’s people. The members are from many different cultural backgrounds and reflect many levels of spiritual maturity. Dominion is committed to ministering with integrity and the highest standard of excellence.

PARTICIPATION & FAITHFUL ATTENDANCE IN OUR WORSHIP SERVICES

Success begins on Sunday. There is joy in attending a church worship service with our friends, family, and loved ones. In our worship of God in the church, we shut out the noise and confusion of the world and listen for God’s guidance. Through music, prayers, scripture reading, and the pastors’ message, we feel the presence of God. The faithful meeting for worship each Lord’s Day is of far greater importance than any other engagement. The fellowship of and with other Christians will help encourage us to greater Christian devotion and service.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A CHRISTIAN?

Theologically speaking, a Christian is someone who has received the Lord Jesus as Savior (John 1:12), (Acts 4:12), has put no trust in his own efforts (Isaiah 64:6) to please God, and repented from his/her sins (Mark 1:15).

SALVATION

Salvation is the transformation of a person’s individual nature and relationship with God as a result of repentance and faith in the atoning death of Jesus Christ on the cross. All humanity stands in need of salvation which is only possible through faith in Christ Jesus. Believers are saved by grace through faith for good works (Ephesians 2:8-10).

BAPTISM

After the repentance of sin and acceptance of salvation, we believe that you should be baptized as the Lord Jesus commanded. Baptism is significant in that it represents the cleansing from sin that comes through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Water baptism involves immersion in water and symbolically portrays the washing away of our sins.

RESPONSBILITY OF THE CHURCH

God calls believers into fellowship with other brothers and sisters in Christ. Believers are told to assemble together to encourage each other (Hebrews 10:25). In His instruction to His disciples, Jesus gives us the purpose of the church in what is known as the Great Commission. There He states:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20 KJV)

God calls all believers into service. God has placed within each believer a gift that is to be used to bring Him glory. In service to the church, we are to use those God-given gifts. (Luke 22:21, John 9:4, I Corinthians 10:31, 15:58)

Believers provide the financial assistance needed to support the ministry to sustain the operations of the church. We must give financially as God has prospered us. By properly giving to the church we give to ourselves. How? When believers give to God He blesses them in return. (Proverbs 3:9, Malachi 3:8-12, Luke 6:38, II Corinthians 9:7)

The responsibility of the Church (Body of Christ) is to spread and share the good news of the gospel throughout the world.

COMMUNION

Why do we drink wine and eat bread in remembrance of Christ? Who should do it and how often? What happened at the Last Supper? Let’s see what the Bible says. The Communion or the Lord’s Supper is the breaking and eating of bread to symbolize Christ’s body broken for us and drinking wine to remember the blood he shed for our sins.

Meaning and symbolism go DEEP and this will change the way you take the Lord’s Supper!

Jesus’ last meal with His disciples took place during the celebration of Passover. Giving them bread, He said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Next, offering wine from a shared cup, He told them, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins” (Matthew 26:26-28). Believers today observe the Lord’s Supper as a symbol of cleansing, consecration, and communion.

When a believer receives salvation, he is consecrated – or set apart to the Lord. His sin is forgiven, and he receives eternal life as well as the indwelling Holy Spirit. But if he at times forgets that he belongs to the Lord, he may give in to temptation. The bread and the cup provide an opportunity to remember what the Father expects of His children and to renew one’s commitment to obey.

The Lord’s Supper is also a time to be in communion. We are connected not only with the Lord who saved us but also with past and present believers. Among members of God’s family, we find comfort and support, just as the disciples and the early church did.

GIVING: TITHES & OFFERINGS

God has a plan for the financing of the work He has ordered the Church to perform – through tithes and offerings.

Tithe means the Tenth part, especially as offered to God. Tithing is a practice of obedience by returning 10% of your income to God. Originally, the tithe was given to the temple in the form of produce or livestock since this was the only real income the people had. As society shifted to a monetary exchange system, the tithe began to be paid in currency.

Tithing is first mentioned when Abraham presented a tithe to the Priest-king of Jerusalem, Melchizedek. (Genesis 14:18-20).

Abraham’s grandson, Jacob, pledged to offer to God a tenth of all that God would bless him with (Read Genesis 28:20-22). What was his 3-fold expectation?

God’s presence – “if God will be with me”

God’s protection – “will keep me in the way that I go”

God’s provision – “will give me bread to eat and raiment to put on”

Consequences of Disobedience Regarding Tithing:

Those who were disobedient regarding tithing were condemned with a curse from God. (Malachi 3:8-9).

Blessing of Obedience Regarding Tithing:

Those that are obedient in tithing are blessed by God in return. According to Malachi 3:10-12, the benefits of tithing are:

-Increase

-Blessings

-Protection

Jesus Taught Tithing:

In Jesus Christ, Malachi’s 3:1-4 prophecy is fulfilled. Jesus taught in Matthew 23:23 that acceptable living includes the tithe and the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith.

Our tithes provide for:

-The financial support of the total ministry operations of the church

-The financial support of the pastoral staff

-The management of the church campus and facility

The tithe is our starting point; it’s the minimum we should give. We believe in God’s plan for everything, and we believe that every member of the church should be a tither, bringing to the Lord a tenth of their income. If all members were tithers, God’s plan of finance would meet all of the financial needs of the church.

Offerings:

I Corinthians 16:2 teaches that believers are to give “as God has prospered,” us. This scripture teaches of giving above and beyond the tithe. Consider the tithe as the seed you “owe” and offerings as the seed you “sow” for increase or toward an expected need or outcome, through your faith. Offerings are voluntary giving above the tithe. Offerings bring in the overflow or the abundance of whatever you need from God. It’s not always money. It can be health in your body, better relationships, peace of mind, etc.

Why is it important to have the right attitude when giving? Giving begins with what you decide. Whether it is your attitude, whom you will give to, and what you give, it’s about your personal decision.

GIFTED TO SERVE

Since we are followers of Jesus, we should follow His example. He lived with one great purpose – to do His Father’s will. As Christians, this should be our goal and our purpose as well. Going, doing, giving, helping, witnessing, sharing, and serving are to be significant parts of our daily living.

In 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, the Apostle Paul uses the body as a metaphor for church membership and serving. He makes four key points:

-The body has many members, but it is still one body.

-The body is unified in its purpose, ministry, and activities.

-Each member has a function; everyone is necessary and is supposed to serve.

-If one member does not do its job well; the body does not function well.

We should see serving in the church as a privilege and a responsibility. As members of the Body of Christ, we are to connect to where God is calling and empowering us to serve so the ministry of Jesus Christ can be effectively carried out in the local church (CDMI) and the world today.

Serving in ministry allows us to follow the example of Christ.

-Serving in ministry allows us to do the good works we were created to do.

-Serving in ministry offers us opportunities to exercise our gifts and talents.

-Serving in ministry offers us an opportunity to bless others.

-Serving in ministry offers us the opportunity to convey the love of Christ to the community.

The Faithful Workers:

His lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” (Math. 25:23 ) As we experience the blessing of this new season, we should constantly be reminded of the faithfulness of God.

But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Heb. 11:16 )
